The pursuit of excellence in car audio competition took a significant step forward yesterday at the Eugenio Lopez Center in Antipolo. We hosted our 2026 EMMA Judges Training, marking a pivotal moment for our officiating team as we gear up for an exciting season ahead.
A New Standard in Calibration
This year, EMMA Philippines introduced an innovative, hands-on training concept designed to foster a truly unified and standardized judging experience. Moving beyond traditional classroom-style lectures, we prioritized deep, immersive practice where every new trainee spent two full hours inside a vehicle.
This “in-cabin” approach allowed our judges to move beyond theory and gain practical, direct experience in evaluating the nuances of competition-grade systems. By dedicating this extended time to each discipline, we ensured our judges are perfectly aligned on the critical criteria that define the EMMA standard:
Sound Quality (SQ): Mastering the nuances of tonal accuracy and staging.
Installation Quality: Evaluating safety, integration, and technical craftsmanship.
ESPL & ESQL: Standardizing our approach to sound pressure and sound quality league measurements.
Sound & Style: Refining the criteria for presentation and overall vehicle integration.
Our mission has always been to provide a fair, neutral, and high-quality platform for competitors. By calibrating our judges through this rigorous, hands-on methodology, we are guaranteeing that every competitor—from the newcomer to the seasoned expert—receives consistent and professional feedback.
A huge thank you to all our attendees who committed their time and passion to this intensive session. Your dedication is what keeps the Philippine car audio scene at the forefront of global standards.
The 2026 season is officially in motion. We look forward to seeing your builds on the lanes!Stay tuned to our website for more updates, event schedules, and technical insights from the EMMA Philippines team.
